Gallerie d’Italia
Located on Via Toledo, one of the city's most vibrant commercial arteries, Gallerie d'Italia occupies the interiors of a beautiful historic building by architect Marcello Piacentini. The location was used for banking functions for years following an intervention by Neapolitan Nicola Pagliara, but a recent renovation by Michele De Lucchi has transformed the structure into a 10,000-square-meter museum capable of housing a prominent permanent collection, with works by Caravaggio and Gemito, a rich section devoted to contemporary art, and a space - adjacent to the bookshop - reserved for temporary exhibitions.
If you visit the museum in the morning, we recommend a stop to the Luminist, an excellent ground-floor café and bistro, but if you’re planning to immerse yourself in art in the afternoon, just move to the top floor where you will find the cocktail bar The Anthill, a wonderful "anthill" over the city, where you can enjoy signature drinks accompanied by exquisite tapas.
Gallerie d’Italia is only 10 minutes away from Attico 33.
