Piazza del Plebiscito
Piazza del Plebiscito, formerly known as Largo di Palazzo or Foro Regio, is one of the city's best-known squares and the largest one.
Considered by Neapolitans to be the parlor of the historic center, the square welcomes its guests with The Basilica of San Francesco di Paola hemicycle facade that encircles them as in an embrace.
Its history is well known and traceable in all tourist guides and on the web, but let us mention a trick to whoever is visiting Naples and this place for the first time: try to walk the square straight in between the two horse statues by Canova from the end of the square, The Royal Palace, blindfolded… Once you open your eyes you’ll see that you took a totally wrong direction. This magic is because of the uneven cobblestone pavement of the square.
We invite you to play with this extraordinarily beautiful place and chill out at the Gambrinus, one of the oldest literary cafes in the city.
Piazza del Plebiscito is only 17 minutes from Attico 33.
